Position Summary :
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key business partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, helping to identify and execute initiatives that drive organic and inorganic growth. Lead and manage all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring its financial health and sustainability. The CFO will have direct responsibility for the overall financial plans, accounting, budget, forecasting, cash flow, tax, treasury and audit activities, including keeping the company compliant in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, and ensuring that the company’s financial and regulatory reporting requirements are met from audit and bank covenant perspectives.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Financial Leadership & Strategy :
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s financial strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic advice to the CEO and senior management regarding financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Develop long-term financial goals, business performance metrics, and KPIs.
- Oversee financial modeling, scenario analysis, and strategic business planning initiatives.
- Assess the company’s financial performance and market position, providing insight on potential opportunities and risks.
- Effective communication with investors and Board members to build confidence and to explain company strategy, financial performance and health.
2. Financial Operations & Oversight :
Oversee all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, tax, treasury, and financial analysis.Manage financial reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.Ensure the company’s financial practices comply with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant regulations.Manage company liquidity, working capital, and capital expenditures to ensure financial stability and operational efficiency.Supervise the preparation and approval of annual financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.3. Risk Management :
Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.Oversee the company’s insurance and risk management policies.Ensure the company is fully compliant with financial laws and regulations, both domestic and international, as applicable.Maintain relationships with external auditors, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and accounting standards.4. Investment & Capital Management :
Manage the company’s capital structure, ensuring efficient use of equity and debt financing.Lead efforts in raising capital, negotiating with banks, investors, and other financial institutions to secure funding and financing for business initiatives.Develop investment strategies, making recommendations to management regarding mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.Oversee cash management and treasury operations to optimize liquidity and ensure the business has access to funds when needed.5. Team Leadership & Development :
Build the best team – Attract, develops, motivates, mentors and retains the talent to build a high performing team.Set clear performance goals for the finance department and ensure those goals are met.Foster a culture of financial accountability and transparency throughout the organization.6. Stakeholder Communication :
Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including investors, board members, and financial institutions.Provide financial insights and updates to the Board of Directors, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategies.Develop and maintain relationships with auditors, regulators, and other external parties.7. Technology & Systems :
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, tools, and technology to support financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making.Ensure the company’s financial systems are secure, efficient, and scalable.
