Driver Class A is an entry level position responsible for light, short-distance driving and delivery-related tasks as directed by management.
Responsibilities :
- Complete deliveries by unloading at customer sites. Complete deliveries by driving company truck (light) or van to customers.
- Process sales orders and paperwork (pulling orders, placing orders in delivery areas and on delivery vehicle.
- Safely transport and handle glass.
- Make copious notes regarding broken, defective, scratched glass, or problem deliveries on the delivery ticket.
- Attach check or cash to related delivery ticket, place in lock box and turn in to office manager upon return to the Branch after delivery is complete.
- Obtain customer signature on delivery ticket and leave proper copy with signature.
- Maintain light truck or van by following preventative maintenance requirements, ensure vehicle is clean and safe, and follow through when repairs are required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Comply with all safety rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
