Bio Fab Technologies is a custom stainless-steel fabricator that manufactures equipment for the Food and Pharmaceutical industries and with our continued growth we are looking to add an impact player to our team as a 2nd Shift Welder-Fabricator Team Lead.
This role reports to Shop Supervisor & is responsible for team members and product flow through the assigned department. This position supervises: Welder, Polisher, Assembler, and Fabricators. Responsible for safety, assigning tasks, ensuring quality, maintaining productivity, training, and providing status updates on shift activities to management. This role participates in the hiring, the discipline, and the performance reviews of team members.

Job Responsibilities:
- Management of 2nd shift team members - Plans, assigns, priorities, assess workload, and evaluates the team’s performance.
- Requisitions supplies as needed
- Workforce Management &Training - Makes recommendations for changes in staffing as necessary to meet demands of workload; evaluates applicants and makes recommendations for hire; assesses training needs, administers training programs, and trains new and existing staff in various aspects of work center operation.
- Counsels’ employees and recommends corrective and/or disciplinary action when appropriate. Documents employee performance
- Responsible for all the facilities, tools, equipment, manpower, raw material, work-in-process products/materials within a given department or work center
- Participate in all safety programs and follow all safety rules and policies.
- Any Other duties as assigned
- Ability to lead a diverse team of shop employees.

- Enforce Safety programs: Help administer safety training, coach and mentor team to ensure understanding and adherence to safety programs.

- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum
- Experience: 5yrs of stainless-steel welding/pipe fitting/fabrication experience
- Knowledge of polishing stainless steel is preferred.
- Experience in a customer job shop environment preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred
- This position involves frequent exposure to noise in excess of 85 dB, as well as other physical hazards associated with a steel fabrication environment. Work indoors approximately 95% of time
- Infrequently involves exposure to temperature extremes and fumes/odors consistent with a steel fabrication environment.
- Constant standing and frequent walking, climbing, reaching, bending and stooping is required. Often working in tight spaces with awkward postures
- Lifting requirement may occasionally exceed 50 lbs. Regular lifting of up to 50 lbs. is common. (It is expected that you will find help lifting any load in excess of 50 lbs.)
