SUMMARY :
As a production operator 1 (Mixer), you will produce, and package fertilizer blends based on work orders provided by office staff. Production operators are crucial to the order fulfillment process and hold the company reputation in their hands. BioGro Inc. is highly regarded as a leader in crop nutrition and soil amendments, producing top quality products is paramount in this position. Operators are expected to become cross-trained in most, if not all areas over the course of their career and ensure production runs smoothly and safely. Communicate with the production team to document issues and updates they implement to resolve them.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Operate Chemical and Organic Process Equipment and systems such as various transfer pumps, valves, belt conveyors, elevators, screens, screw conveyors, cooling towers, heat exchangers, mixers, filtration equipment, dryers, sampling equipment, instrumentation.
- Basic chemical knowledge (pH, solubility, concentration)
- Perform daily inspection and required preventative maintenance on equipment. Including entrance into confined space areas for general leaning and inspections. Document and report any malfunctions or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain equipment daily to include all greasing, tightening, and changing of filters, etc., as per maintenance schedule of equipment.
- Enforce and maintain standard safety procedures as well as perform any general work or other assignments necessary to ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation.
- Initiate emergency procedures, when conditions warrant, to ensure personnel safety and to prevent damage to plant and equipment.
- Other work-related duties as assigned.

The work environment is mostly outdoors during all weather conditions, with some indoor work. Work is performed around moving machinery and equipment, noise levels vary depending on what equipment is being worked around such as : Gas / Air / Electric pumps, forklifts, ladders, hoses, catwalks, general hand tools, agitators, mixers, scales, pH meters, specific gravity cups, valves, camlock couplers, y-strainers, and sweeco filtration systems.
