What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Maintenance Technician position at Bio-Gro?
SUMMARY :
Repair, install, adjust, or maintain industrial fertilizer production and processing machinery or refinery and pipeline distribution systems. May also install, dismantle, or move machinery and heavy equipment according to plans.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
- Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.
- Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
- Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
- Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
- Record repairs and maintenance performed.
- Inspects work performed by team members.
- Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed
- Works with the department manager to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
- Tracks and logs materials, and other resources used for inventory purposes
- Ensures maintenance and repair work is completely safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
- Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments.
- Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience
- Help document and be on top of maintenance logs / requests
- Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
- Record parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials, as necessary.
- Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices.
- Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
- Study blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery.
- Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment.
- Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators performing other duties as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned (Such as working in the plant along with the team doing maintenance repairs, etc.)

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :
Experience in Instrumentation & Industrial Automation or related field and / or 3 plus years' experience in industrial maintenance related position.
