Job Description:
The Vice President, Bio-Nutraceuticals is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the bio-nutraceutical department within the company, including product development, research, marketing, and operations. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the bio-nutraceuticals industry, strong leadership abilities, and strategic planning skills.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Vision: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the business objectives of the Bio-Nutraceuticals division. Monitor trends in the industry to ensure the company stays competitive.
Product Development: Oversee the development of new bio-nutraceutical products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficacy. Oversee and direct research and development teams to ensure product innovation and advancement.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to bio-nutraceutical products. This includes FDA and NSF regulations, nutritional labeling, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and any other applicable laws or regulations.
Operations Management: Oversee production, quality control, logistics, and supply chain operations. Ensure that processes are efficient and cost-effective, and that products are produced on schedule.
Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, partnerships, products, and services. Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to drive sales growth.
Relationship Management: Develop relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, governmental agencies, and industry groups. Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, set financial targets, and ensure resources are allocated appropriately. Oversee financial performance and cost-efficiency.
Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a high-performing team. Encourage professional development and address any issues/disputes that may arise.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement measures to mitigate them.
Qualifications:
Master's degree or Ph.D. in a related field (such as Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or Nutritional Science) is preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the nutraceutical or pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Comprehensive knowledge of NSF, FDA regulations and GMPs.
Proven experience in strategic planning and business development.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in using business software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and project management tools.
