Pay Range
$22.00 - $30.25
This position is located in Cannon Falls/Goodhue MN.
Perform weekly blood collection and plasmapheresis on geese, sheep and goats. Care for equipment required for blood collection and plasmapheresis. Transport blood products to Minneapolis Campus.
Inspect physical conditions of animals daily for signs of illness or injury, make preliminary assessment of conditions and administer proper medication under veterinary supervision. Prepare for surgery and other veterinary procedures. Care for post-surgical or post-procedure animals.
Routine health care of animals including: foot trimming, horn removal, weighing, vaccination and deworming, lambing/kidding, maintaining identification, and evaluating nutrition.
Enter data and maintain electronic and paper records of animal inventory, health, feeding, breeding, antibody production, and shipping of animals.
Assist in acquisition and disposal of suitable animals for the research project.
Assist in maintaining facilities both for animal care and outside evaluations.
Work independently to generate and complete tasks and projects.
Follow company policies and practices as outlined in Handbook and follow guidelines regarding safety as outlined in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals, Animal Care and Use Training and Authorizations and Vehicle/Driving in accordance with the job.
Additional duties as assigned.
