Senior Research Associate

Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading the development of Bio-Techne's various product lines. You will develop and perform complex experiments and lead projects in your department and/or cross-functionally in order to further the ongoing development of new and existing products to help advance Bio-Techne's evolving portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development of Bio-Techne reagents and consumables
• Develop and conduct complex experiments to help further new product development
• Define and propose appropriate scientific processes
• Analyze data, draw conclusions, and make decisions for next steps on assigned projects
• Carry out troubleshooting activities for self and others daily
• Make recommendations about group projects and priorities
• Lead projects of broad scope and moderate complexity, collaborating with other departments or sites as needed
• Train new employees and set up experiments for others
• Follow guidelines and comply with all company safety, quality, and training procedures and regulations
• Perform additional duties as assigned
  
  

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience
• Or, Master’s degree in a related field and 2-5 years of relevant experience
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required
• Must be able to work in a fast-faced environment where you will be required to prioritize your own work and the work of others to meet various project deadlines
• Must be able to analyze data in order to make effective decisions
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills, especially across different groups
• Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Must work well independently in an environment that requires strategic decision making
• Must demonstrate extensive technical knowledge
• Must be able to effectively train new employees
• Must be able to effectively lead new projects, especially across different groups
• Must keep apprised of current trends in area of expertise
