Position Summary
The Sr. Payroll Tax Analyst will be a member of the North America payroll team that is responsible for delivering timely and accurate pay to our employees. This position will focus on payroll tax ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations as well as liaise with tax authorities and governing bodies to ensure timely resolution of all payroll-related tax issues. In addition, this will support certain payroll processing activities servicing as a back-up when needed for other team members. This position will have a key role in global payroll transformation initiatives partnering with US and International team members on implementations as applicable.

Position Summary
The Sr. Payroll Tax Analyst will be a member of the North America payroll team that is responsible for delivering timely and accurate pay to our employees. This position will focus on payroll tax ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations as well as liaise with tax authorities and governing bodies to ensure timely resolution of all payroll-related tax issues. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax reporting and withholding responsibilities
- Conduct payroll tax audits to monitor tax withholdings, pay rates, wages, and deductions in payroll and verify compliance with tax and labor laws. This includes W-2 tax reconciliations.
- Researches issues within the area of specialization; proactively identify and troubleshoot complex issues to determine root causes and solutions for resolution
- Manage data, system, and process for an area of expertise to ensure its integrity and ability to provide accurate and timely delivery of information and/or transactions.
- Liaise with tax authorities and governing bodies to ensure timely resolution of all payroll-related tax issues
- Improve the company’s payroll effectiveness by drafting accounting papers, audit reports, budgets, schedules, and summaries
- Organize compliance training programs to report changes in tax policies and inform employees about the latest tax obligations and processes
- Test and validate Workday updates for tax compliance
- Respond to employee tax queries partnering with HR as needed
- Continuously drive improvements, automation, communication, and education to increase quality and improve employee experience
- Support audit inquiries by provide necessary tax data for corporate tax and the GL team as requested
- Coordinate with third party provider for Wage Attachments/Tax Filing and Reporting
- Maintain tax rate updates within payroll system
- Work with third party on registration applications for State and Local Income Tax and/or Unemployment Tax IDs
- Aid other areas in the payroll group during peak times or absences
- Partner with GL team and assist with all assigned payroll general ledger accounts (i.e., Cash accounts, Tax Liability, Benefits Liability, etc.) and resolve variances timely
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot table, v-lookup, etc.)
- 8 years of experience working as a Payroll Analyst or in a similar role
- U.S. Workday payroll system experience (highly preferred)
- Knowledge of state payroll regulations and tax laws to maintain compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve a variety issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and to handle multiple, competing priorities
- Ability to navigate complex HR data structure
- Familiarity with payroll policies and tax regulations
- Globally recognized certifications, such as CPP, CPM, or FPC preferred but not required
