Company Description:

Bio Town Ags mission and motivation is to extract value out of every possible waste stream in our operation. Our intent as an agribusiness has always been to maximize those values in the creation of truly outstanding products that are meaningful, in demand and profitable. Our operation includes an anaerobic digester that recycles animal waste and other organic by-products to produce methane gas. This biogas is used to either power generators to produce electricity, or it will go through a gas upgrade skid to produce natural gas. The residual from this process is composted on-site and the compost is also used to make topsoil. We are one of the most unique waste recycling renewable energy producers in the United States.
Our company has an opening for a Systems Engineer. We are seeking candidates that are friendly, honest and communicative to reduce stress in the team rather than adding stress.
Position Overview:
The Systems Engineer will analyze current systems evaluating and identifying areas for improvement or optimization, design, test, and integrate systems and solutions to improve efficiency and functionality.
Outline of Duties:
- Able to work with multiple team leaders to understand pain points in all areas of the business and to recommend wise and thought-out solutions to a single direct report.
- Ability to manage and individually create the solutions.
- Projects will have very high variation ranging from simple business IT solutions to automating the flow of information to Industrial automation database/control systems.
- Not all projects will need deep code development. Familiar with options to solve problems with low or no-code software solutions.
- May include working outside understanding how the farm works and ensuring execution. Some projects will include interaction with physical devices.
- May include involvement in Biogas plant where there are motor and sensor control projects on PLC systems.
- By default, this is not a remote role, but we are reasonable depending on the projects that are being worked on and the personal need. Although communication is needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of primary coding languages, Database understanding, API development, familiar Industrial SCADA/PLC development.
- Attitude must be servant hearted and bring a level of energy/leadership to the issues that slow the business down.
- Needs to be quick learning and unafraid of creating results in domains they have never been in before.
- Must understand the balance of being scrappy or thorough. Fierce resolve, strategic, willing to try new things.
- Responsive, reliable, and conscientious communication skills.
Benefits:
This salary exempt position will be day shift, Monday to Friday, weekends and additional hours as needed.
Full-time position with benefits after 90 days. Benefits include but not limited to: Health, Dental, Vision, Accident, Critical Illness, Life, Disability, and 401k.
Paid time off in accordance with the Companys Paid Time Off (PTO) policy.
