Job Description
The Biodesix Buyer plays a vital role in purchasing materials, managing inventory, and ensuring that the company's headquarters has the necessary supplies to meet its operational objectives. This position requires strategic thinking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
- Purchase materials to meet current forecasts for each product.
- Monitor inventory levels to keep them as low as possible while meeting forecast and operational objectives.
- Analyze actual material usage compared to forecasted demand within vendor lead times.
- Maintain accurate and complete purchases, confirmation, tracking, and vendor records.
- Timely and accurate entry of purchasing and inventory-related transactions.
- Perform regular cycle counts of inventory.
- Work closely with planning and Lab Operations to understand changes in forecast and performance.
- Communicate projections for key materials yearly and review with vendors.
- Monitor vendors' inventory levels to ensure they meet Biodesix needs.
- Maintain an efficient system for monitoring open purchase orders.
- Assist with cost estimates and special projects as needed.
- Develop and provide materials reports to management.
- Work with the inventory management team to ensure deliveries satisfy assigned purchase orders.
- Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel, MS Word, and industry-standard purchase order software platforms.
- Clear understanding of the production planning function.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is a plus.
- Supply Chain experience in Medical/Laboratory settings is preferred.
- Undergraduate degree is preferred.
- Hourly compensation starting at $28.
