The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager will oversee all EHS programs across facilities. This position involves designing, implementing, and managing EHS policies and procedures that comply with regulatory requirements and company values, ensuring employee well-being and minimizing environmental impact.
Responsibilities:
- EHS Program Development: Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive EHS policies and programs aligned with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Safety Risk Management: Lead safety risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning to ensure a safe work environment.
- Environmental Stewardship: Ensure proper environmental management, including waste disposal, pollution control, chemical storage & handling, and regulatory reporting.
- Site-Specific Safety Programs: Manage site-specific safety programs, conduct training, and create an environment that prioritizes safe and sustainable work practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives for safety and environmental performance.
- Risk Assessment and Compliance: Conduct regular site inspections and audits to assess risks and ensure compliance with company EHS standards, government regulations, and operating permits.
- EHS Integration: Partner with operations teams to integrate EHS practices into daily operations and decision-making processes.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Track, analyze, and report key EHS metrics, driving data-based improvements.
- Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, auditors, and stakeholders on matters related to environmental health and safety.
- Emergency Preparedness: Lead emergency preparedness and response planning.
- MOC Process Support: Support the facility management of change (MOC) process and participate in Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
- Hazard Identification and Risk Management: Support daily Job Hazard Analysis and mentor front line employees to improve hazard identification and risk management.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay current with industry trends and changing regulations related to EHS.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Experience: 5 years of experience managing EHS programs, ideally within industrial or energy sectors.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to environmental health and safety.
- Risk Management Experience: Experience with risk management, incident investigation, and safety audits.
- OSHA PSM: Experience with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- EHS Certifications: EHS certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are a plus.
