Description : PROCESS OPERATOR
Bioenergy a biodiesel manufacture is currently seeking Process Operators to support its forty (40) million gallon production facility in Memphis, TN. The Memphis facility produces biodiesel from multiple feedstocks, including from vegetable oil, animal fats, and used cooking oil. The purpose of the Process Operator role is to safely perform daily activities necessary to produce quality product in accordance with the production schedule. The Process Operator reports to the Operations Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a continuous biodiesel production processes.
- Set up, start up, or shut down process equipment per documented operating procedures.
- Complete daily operating work tasks in alignment with priorities set by Production Manager.
- Transfer product between tanks and track related process information.
- Adjust equipment control settings for process chemical reactions.
- Monitor work areas to ensure that materials in tanks and are not in danger of overflowing.
- Lead troubleshooting process for operating and production problems.
- May be asked to draw samples of in-process material and finished products for quality and control tests.
- Sample and monitor raw, in process, and finished goods inventory.
- Retrieve readings for boiler operations and make necessary boiler adjustment per training and qualifications.
- Notify maintenance, stationary-engineering, and other personnel to correct equipment malfunctions and to adjust power, steam, water, or air supplies.
- Calibrate analytical instruments.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, company policies and procedures including safety.
- Perform necessary housekeeping to maintain excellent building and area standards.
- Perform Job Cycle Checks (JCCs) while actually performing a job to confirm the procedure content truly reflects the operating practice.
- Participate in shift change meetings.

Additional Information
This is a full-time position that reports to the Operations Supervisor. The work schedule for this position is 12-hour fixed shifts that rotate on days and nights. The Memphis manufacturing plant operates on a 7 day, 24 hour schedule.
