BIOFerm™, a renewable energy company, is currently looking for a Project Manager. BIOFerm is a Wisconsin-based company providing turnkey anaerobic digestion and gas upgrading facilities. Committed to sustainable and economical organic waste diversion, BIOFerm’s digester technology harnesses biogas from fermenting organics—food waste, manure, biosolids, etc.—and converts it into valuable green energy, vehicle fuel, heat and organic products. Its gas upgrading systems enable biogas producers to profitably upgrade biogas to renewable natural gas (RNG).

BIOFerm is looking for a Project Manager, who will provide leadership for current projects from project kickoff through installation. Related experience managing the execution of projects is beneficial, along with a willingness to learn and grow with the company. Current locations include Madison, WI; Lawton, OK; and Enid, OK.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards
  • Contribute to project estimates
  • Develop project budgets and schedules, and manage the project to stay on-time and within budget
  • Direct development of construction documents and ensure such documents are complete, current, and organized appropriately
  • Review deliverables for project
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Supervise engineers, construction managers, and contractors
  • Supervise site superintendents located at multiple sites
  • Attend and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, colleagues, subcontractors, and other parties
  • Act as liaison between company and client to ensure client is up to date on project development
  • Manage technical, regulatory, and performance aspects of project
  • Coordinate resources with other team members to execute project plans, and delegate tasks as required
  • Minimize company exposure and risk on projects; perform risk analysis and management
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary project team and engage internal and external resources to execute successful projects
  • Work closely with other members in the organization to manage the day-to-day operational requirements
  • Communicate project progress in a timely, concise, and accurate fashion
  • Manage site safety
  • Oversee inventory/receiving
  • Manage assets and rentals at the site
  • Manage project schedule and dashboard
  • Coordinate tasks with jobsite leads
  • Report project’s reports to management team on a regular basis
  • Travel to project sites as required
  • Additional project execution tasks as needed

Competencies/Qualifications:

  • Minimum Associate's degree in Project Management, engineering or related discipline
  • Currently licensed with the National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies or willing to take the NASCLA exam and equivalent state licensing exams, as required for contract compliance
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience managing projects in a related sector, such as wastewater, oil and gas, utility, ethanol, or renewable energy
  • At least 3 years of experience on site construction experience, on installation and execution services in projects in a related sector, such as wastewater, oil and gas, ethanol, utility, or renewable energy
  • Proficient understanding of Project Management methodology and the ability to execute projects within its time and budget requirements
  • Understanding of the industrial manufacturing sector
  • Experience in oversight of engineering services and construction management
  • Prior experience working with documents such as construction drawings, specifications, and bidding documents
  • Demonstrate experience with scheduling, estimating, contract negotiation
  • Strong customer management capability with superior interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Decision making ability, with excellent planning and problem-solving skills
  • Team player with the ability to take initiative and lead effectively
  • Self-starter, results-oriented, highly motivated, and able to multi-task
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills
  • Confident in communicating on a technical level when working with outside customers, contractors, and the internal engineering team
  • Experienced in Project Management tools: MS Project, MS Office Suite, ERP, and AutoCAD or equivalent experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Not required, but noteworthy, is experience using hand and electrical tools as well as operate heavy machinery, certified for operation of heavy machinery
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Valid US driver’s license
  • A valid US passport or other document valid for international travel
  • Must be authorized to work for any company in the United States. Must not require sponsorship, or continued sponsorship to work for any company in the United States
