BioFit is currently seeking a Controller at its Bowling Green, Ohio facility.
Job Summary:
The Controller will support the organization’s goals and financial objectives by planning, directing, monitoring, and analyzing all accounting and finance activities. This includes preparing forecasts and budgets, cost accounting, financial reporting and analyses, cash flow management, payroll, tax preparation, cost analysis, and general accounting activities. Additionally, the Controller will oversee Human Resources and IT functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Understand the overall company impact of decisions by viewing things from a ‘big picture’ perspective.
- Prepare and/or direct all financial management reports for senior management team and ownership, including monthly and annual financial statements, forecasts, and reports for government regulatory agencies.
- Maintain standard costing on all existing components and help develop standards for new products.
- Maintain daily and monthly financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on the dashboard.
- Provide financial condition status and projections by coordinating budget/forecast preparation, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial information, minimize the impact of variances, and developing corrective action plans.
- Ensure sufficient funds by forecasting cash requirements and obligations.
- Support initiatives by leading financial analysis of capital projects and kaizen activities.
- Prepare and/or direct salary payroll, employee expense reports, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Propose annual strategic price increases to maintain margin.
- Oversee the accounting department’s activities regarding accounts payable and accounts receivable; accumulate/analyze data and make recommendations to the budget/forecast.
- Oversee the human resource department’s activities regarding benefits administration, payroll, and safety.
- Oversee the IT department’s activities.
- Accomplish finance and organizational missions by completing related activities and other assigned duties as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with others and maintain a teamwork approach and attitude.
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance and knowledge of ERP systems required. Master’s degree in business administration preferred.
- Experience with Plex, ERP system preferred but not required.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
- 3-5 years of public accounting preferred but not required.
- Minimum 10 years accounting/finance experience in a privately owned, manufacturing environment.
- Strong cost accounting experience and understanding.
