We are hiring an Accountant, Client Financial Services for one of our clients in Edison, NJ.
Job Description:
Under the direction of a Clerk Typist or supervisory officer in a state department, institution, or agency, examines and checks calculations for completeness and accuracy, makes determinations and computations requiring a working knowledge of departmental rules, regulations, and policies, prepares and verifies financial documents.
Examples of work:
- Recording transactions, which involves logging checks and preparing transaction reports.
- Daily counter/window transactions and reconciling cash drawers.
- Verify Residents identity and keeping their personal information confidential.
- Must be knowledgeable about a range of bank operations and able to answer any questions a resident or family member may have.
- Dedicated to performing outstanding customer service to our residents, family members, staff and vendors.
- May take the lead in the clerical phase of the auditing and accounting work of the unit, assists in developing effective work methods.
- Examines audits and varied reports to determine whether charges assessed, and arithmetic calculations are correct.
- Maintains cash records and prepares journal entries.
- May use varied types of common office machines in temporary assignments where skill and speed are not primary requirements and special training is not necessary.
- Prepares and assists in preparing summaries and reports from source information.
- Maintains records and files.
- May be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office or related units.
Skills required:
- Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Computer, adding machine, cash counter, printer
Experience:
- One (1) year of experience in the preparation, review and verification of financial records for correctness, completeness, and legality.
License:
- Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
Work hours:
- 9:00AM – 4:30PM
- Lunch period (Unpaid): 12:00 PM -1:00 PM
