- Processes vendor payments from invoices, verifying deliverables and reconcile accounts payable/receivables
- Create and/or approves financial documents, including journal vouchers, team members invoices, and purchase orders
- Research accounting issues and provides information for audits and vendor inquiries
- Supplies informational and transactional support to external and internal customers
- Research patient's history in HEAPlus and interview patient to acquire appropriate information for AHCCCS eligibility applications. Submit completed applications to AHCCCS for eligibility determination.
- Monitors the CHS Prior Authorization database for medical service authorizations, including outpatient/inpatient claims, ambulance, and emergency department services.
- Reviews third-party and Medicaid AHCCCS payments and approvals for outside services.
- Communicates budget-impacting medical services to the Finance Supervisor and Administrator
- Ensures compliance with policies on the safekeeping of PHI.
- Maintain all certifications and training required by HeaPlus, AHCCCS and CHS Working Conditions
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment
- Must be able to work inside a jail and be able to travel within any/all clinics, as well as outside hospitals or other medical facilities when required.
- May require in person applications with the patient population and potentially exposure to contagious diseases.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and read for a long period of time
- Must be able to perform multiple, complicated tasks and decision making, with accuracy on short deadlines
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
- The position includes activities and interaction with all levels of County management and personnel.
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment

- Three (3) years of clerical accounting, bookkeeping, or specialized administrative experience
- A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
- Associates degree or higher
- Three (3) or more years of clerical accounting, bookkeeping, or specialized administrative experience in healthcare or government
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred
- Moderate to advanced experience with CGI/Advantage Financial Software Suite
- Experience with accounts payable
- Experience with Electronic Health Record system
- Experience with insurance, billing rules, or claims processing
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent
- Associates degree or higher
- 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Other Requirements
- Must successfully complete a fingerprint/background check with Maricopa County Sheriff's Office
- A valid, unrestricted Driver's license Training onsite with potential to move to hybrid position with reporting to office 1xweek Drug and background screenings will be completed by client
