Staff Accountant I

The Staff Accountant I primarily performs accounting functions related to banking and compensation for all divisions and subsidiaries of the company in accordance with established procedures. They are occasionally called upon for other duties including data entry, procedure development, audit compliance, and other special projects within the Accounting Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and the necessary supporting schedules and account reconciliations for all branches and subsidiaries. 
• Preparation/calculation of specific assigned journal entries, which could include the subsidiary cost of goods sold revaluation, maintenance of fixed asset ledger, lease maintenance, as well as monthly balancing of intercompany payable and receivable accounts.
• Prepare supporting information for required governmental filings, as needed, inclusive of monthly and quarterly filings required for each foreign subsidiary.
• Assist with external audit(s) through record retrieval and process demonstration for auditors.
• Assist Senior Accountants as needed.
• Assist with Henry Schein financial reporting, including uploading trial balances, roll forwards and quarterly footnotes.

Qualifications:

• Office/accounting procedures and computer skills including intermediate Excel, required
• Time management and organizational skills essential
