Job Summary
The Customer Data Steward is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, integrity, and governance of customer data across our systems, specifically Salesforce CRM and Sage X3 ERP. The Customer Data Steward will develop and administer customer data governance policies and procedures, support data quality initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain and improve customer data management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain customer data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity across Salesforce CRM and Sage X3 ERP systems.
- Administer customer data directly, as well as through a network of data stewards, within Salesforce CRM and Sage X3 ERP, ensuring that all new customer accounts are accurately created and maintained.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across departments to support data cleansing initiatives, especially during company acquisitions and integrations.
- Review and validate customer data related to industry mergers, acquisitions, and other business changes to ensure seamless data integration and system updates.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of customer data to identify inaccuracies and discrepancies, initiating corrective actions as needed.
- Partner with IT, sales, operations, and finance teams to understand user requirements and ensure customer data reflects current business relationships.
- Monitor data quality metrics and develop reports to provide visibility into data integrity issues and improvement efforts.
- Provide training and support to end-users on data entry standards, data governance policies, and system best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience in data management, data governance, or a related role.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce CRM and ERP systems, preferably Sage X3.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and master data management (MDM) practices.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environment.
- Familiarity with data migration projects and system integrations.
- Salesforce Administrator certification is a plus.
