The Master Data Specialist works closely with the Product Managers and subject matter experts to establish stringent governance and compliance protocols for all data across our systems, working primarily in Sage X3, our ERP system. This includes ensuring accurate pricing, maintenance of product codes, managing discounts, and conducting data cleanup.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the intake, processing, and fulfilment of all data requests, including new use SKU demand, product and pricing information, and data access requests.
- Developing and maintaining SKU and customer data, monitoring, tracking, and auditing for inconsistencies and errors, and develop processes to identify and remedy data inaccuracies and/or missing information.
- Act as a key partner to business stakeholders, identifying opportunities to leverage data systems to improve processes, support decision-making, and drive strategic use of information.
- Maintain workflow approvals required for data governance as well as providing guidance and support for users in regard to submitting, approving and updating requests using Master Data Governance (MDG) process.
- Participate in M&A transactions including data due diligence, integration planning and executing against post-transaction integration activities related to Product Management needs
- Collaborate with stakeholders, IT, and data governance teams to ensure proper data ingestion, storage, and accessibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field strongly preferred
- 2-4 years of experience developing and supporting data analytics platforms, including data modeling, warehousing, management, and BI.
- SAGE X3 experience and SKU management preferred
- Strong understanding of master data objects and data attributes, including but not limited to client facing product attributes such as product descriptions, (e.g., unit of measure), tax codes, pricing, and classifications supporting integrations with eCommerce and CRM platforms.
- Strong understanding of data technologies, including data analytics & visualization, data management, and data governance.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), and the ability to create and develop PowerPoint presentations as needed
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
