What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Planner position at BioLab Sciences?
Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and process-oriented Production Planner I to develop and manage production plans for each manufacturing process. Inventory levels shall be optimized and operations resources shall be used efficiently in order to ensure customer demand needs are met. Coordinating and communicating clearly throughout the operations department will be critical to maintaining a responsive supply chain and supporting company goals.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and maintain short- and long-term production plans based on demand forecasts, inventory targets, and capacity constraints. These should provide clarity on the daily needs within each production process step, along with provide visibility with upcoming demand and resource needs.
- Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and sales teams to ensure alignment of production schedules with material availability and customer requirements.
- Ensure communication on critical production planning outputs (i.e. the production schedule, the daily/weekly meeting dashboard) is clear and effective.. Communicate schedule changes, material constraints, and priority shifts to relevant stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
- Monitor and adjust schedules in relation to stock levels of in-process and finished goods materials to address delays, supply issues, or changes in demand.
- Analyze production capacity (i.e. space, equipment, labor capacity) and related utilization, identifying potential bottlenecks and recommending process improvements.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery for each process, accuracy to meeting scheduled production, and inventory turnover.
- Generate reports and dashboards to provide visibility into production planning and supply chain performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning accuracy and supply chain efficiency.
- Support and if needed Lead daily/weekly production meetings.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2 years of experience of production planning experience.
- APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus.
- Proven experience in production planning or supply chain coordination, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, production workflows, and demand planning.
- Proficiency with ERP and MRP systems and planning software
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
