Purpose & Scope
This role has the sole responsibility for managing the data architecture process, which can be divided into three key areas:
- Ingestion of data into our data warehouse:
- Data sources include primarily pharmaceutical data (e.g. IQVIA, SHA), distributor data, HUB data, Salesforce.com data, and other data feeds. All data is housed in the company's data warehouse (Azure) where this role is responsible for cleaning, validating, and integrating the data such that it is accurate and can be useful for stakeholders.
- Creation of data tables within the data warehouse:
- Data must be organized into data tables where the data can become organized in a ‘standardized” manner, clean of duplicity and QC’d. These data tables will serve as the basis for report tables and eventually dashboards & other insights reports.
- Creation of report tables within the data warehouse:
- With the collaboration of other stakeholder customers (e.g. analytics team members, GM’s, etc.), data must be further organized into report tables that can be used to automate reports, dashboards and other tools used by the selling organization and leadership, including C-Suite reporting. These data tables will “feed” visualization of such data into Tableau, PowerBI, excel and even powerpoint.
Secondarily, this role will have some responsibilities in creating and managing dashboards within Tableau and possibly PowerBI.
Critical to this role is understanding the key EDI data feeds within the pharma systems and the correlation of each data feed to the underlying commercial business process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead requirements analysis, design, development, testing and deployment and integration of pharma data solutions (End-to-End)
- Ensure accuracy, validity and delivery of real time pharmaceutical data from various sources (e,g. Distributor, Internal Enterprise system, ValueCentric, DDD, GPO member rosters, Model N, IQVIA, CRM/SFE, Customer inventory mgmt. systems)
- Understands, maintains, and extends overall functionality of Commercial Data Warehousing based on evolving business requirements and additional data sources
- Ensures systems and business alignment to all applicable laws and regulations governing pharmaceutical commercial transactions in the areas of return goods, product replacement, class of trade assignment, pricing, government price reporting, PHI, PII, safe harbor, etc. and understands implications of inaccuracy and non-compliance
- Interpret and communicate technical information into business language; interpret and communicate business requirements into technical language
- Manage and negotiate with third party suppliers including SaaS providers

- ValueCentric / ValueTrak Reporting (Sellout, Inventory, Product Activity, etc.)
- Model N – Revenue Management and Pricing (Contracts, Pricing, Chargeback, etc.)
- IQVIA / DDD (Industry data)
- Proven ability to work closely with commercial team to understand their needs and goals
- Ability to lead initiatives and manage projects to advance company capability at pace with growing business demands
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and data management
- Ability to work with imperfect data and manage ambiguity to bring clarity to business decisions for daily, weekly, monthly transactions
- Ability to work independently on data analysis and combine multiple data sources across multiple views to uncover trends and make recommendations
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or other relevant discipline.
- MBA or similar advanced degree preferred.
- Must have 7 years of pharmaceutical industry experience with data warehouse architecture and analytical reporting experience.
- Must be proficient with Excel, SQL Server, Access, Tableau and other reporting tools and software used within the industry.
- Experience with relational database and reporting solutions, Excel proficient including advanced Excel formula capacities and database connectivity
Working Conditions
- Office environment; requiring sitting and standing.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is expected to be between $175,000 – $215,000 / year
