About the Role:
You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues.
- Determine donor eligibility by conducting proper informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion, as well as reviewing medical history, physical examination, blood testing, and Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions at the facility and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician's standing orders and transporting donors to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
What You Bring to Takeda:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate-equivalent degree from a recognized nursing program that meets state requirements.
- Current licensure or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy in the state of licensure.
- Satisfactory completion of FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialists.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Job Requirements:
The estimated hourly wage range for this position is $33.08 - $45.48. U.S.-based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives and participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
