About the Role
As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors. Your primary responsibilities will include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine donor eligibility and conduct medical history interviews
- Manage donor adverse events and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
