Biolojic Design Inc is hiring an R&D Researcher in Washington, DC. The base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 annually plus bonus potential.
We are seeking a motivated R&D Researcher to join us as a key player in the Drug Discovery department and contribute to the development of novel targeted therapeutics for oncology. As an R&D Researcher, you will conduct or supervise in vitro and in vivo experiments to support pre-clinical projects within Biolojic’s oncology pipeline.
The successful candidate will work at the JLABS Life Science Incubator in Washington, D.C. This state-of-the-art facility is located on Children’s National Hospital’s Research and Innovation Campus that houses new lab and office space where Biolojic will develop novel medicines for cancer patients and those suffering from autoimmune diseases.
Key responsibilities:
- A core member of an oncology drug discovery project team
- Independently conducting experiments using cultured and primary (e.g. hPBMCs and patient-derived) human tumor and immune cells
- Data collection, analysis, documentation, and communication of scientific and experimental results
- Working collaboratively with team members to meet project goals and timelines
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in science (PhD-level applicants please refer to Sr. Scientist, Oncology opening at Biolojic)
- Background in cancer research in a laboratory setting, and prior experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry are highly valued.
- Experience with a range of in vitro skills for the analysis of human tumor cell function such as cell culture, cell signaling bioassays, high-content imaging, and cell death measurement experience with multispectral flow cytometry (8 colors) for immunophenotyping and human tumor cell characterization
- Team player with good interpersonal skills and experience working in a collaborative work environment
- Fast learner, multitasker, well-organized with the ability to keep accurate records and present scientific findings in small group settings
Desired Requirements:
- Previous work experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
- Knowledge and experience with drug development in the areas of antibody drug conjugates, T or NK cell engagers, chimeric antigen receptor-engineered immune cells or related therapeutics
- Previous work experience with hPBMCs & the isolation and characterization of primary human T and NK cells
- Experience with antibody discovery, engineering and high-throughput functional screening assays
- Authorship on publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals
