Bioluminux Clinical Research Illinois, part of the Bioluminux Clinical Research Network, is a clinical trial investigator site dedicated to advancing medical research. We conduct late phase (phase II - IV) clinical trial studies across multiple therapeutic areas. We are seeking a professional, personable, and highly organized Medical Receptionist to join our clinical research team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, handling all front desk operations with efficiency and a warm demeanor.Bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates are strongly preferred to better serve our diverse patient population but not mandatory.
**Responsibilities:**
- Manage patient flow, including checking patients in and out, and coordinating appointments.
- Greet and interact with patients, family members, and other visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
- Answer and direct phone calls, responding to patient inquiries, and providing information about clinical trial studies.
- Verify patient information and obtain patients' medical records.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including medical history, test results, and medications.
- Utilize electronic record systems (CTMS) to update patient information and document interactions.
- Participate in medical office administrative tasks, such as managing clinical trial supplies and coordinating clinical trial lab results.
- Support clinical trial coordinators and investigators with administrative tasks.
- Provide exceptional patient service, including resolving patient concerns and answering questions about clinical trial studies.
- Assist with scheduling, including booking appointments, sample processing and posting.
- Engage in Patient recruitment and follow-ups.
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff, and external partners.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area, including handling mail, supplies, office equipments and deliveries.
- Attend Clinical Trial Studies Investigator Meetings as needed.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and health information management.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
- Familiarity with patient database system such as Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
