Description
The Information Technology Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's IT operations, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security across technology assets. Key responsibilities include managing our Microsoft 365 GCC-High environment, ensuring operation of office networks, overseeing geographically-separated IT Support Technicians, and coordinating with our Managed Service Provider. Additionally, this role includes managing the IT budget, asset lifecycle, and compliance with security and audit requirements. The IT Manager will serve as a critical escalation point, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. This position reports directly to the Director of Information Systems & Security.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Microsoft 365 GCC-High Environment Management
Act as the primary escalation point for M365 GCC-High, supporting IT Support Technicians and ensuring compliance with security requirements.
Manage user permissions, data governance, and compliance configurations unique to the GCC-High Environment.Ensure alignment with NIST 800-171 and the DoD Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC)Hardware and Network MaintenanceOversee laptop fleet management, including maintenance, security policies, patching, and lifecycle processes.
Manage existing network infrastructure.Assist in the planning and execution of network setups for new office spaces or expansion projects as required.IT Asset ManagementMaintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, tracking asset lifecycle stages from acquisition to disposal.
Implement asset tracking tools and enforce procedures for security, access control, and decommissioningCoordinate asset procurement, upgrades, and warranty support, aligning assets with organizational goals.IT Budget and Vendor ManagementDevelop and manage the IT budget, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Assist the Contracts & Agreements team by negotiating prices with vendors for hardware, software, and IT services, ensuring competitive pricing and contract compliance.Assess the impact of new technologies on budget and organizational goals.Process Development and DocumentationEstablish or improve IT operational processes, such as change management, help desk support, and inventory management, ensuring clear documentation.
Collaborate with the Cybersecurity team to enforce cybersecurity best practices and compliance.Establish and maintain a repository of IT Knowledge and standard operating procedures (SOPs).Project Management and ComplianceOversee IT project management, coordinating with stakeholders to meet project timelines and deliverables.
Participate in audits to ensure documentation supports compliance with security and government regulations.Assess emerging technologies and make recommendations for organizational productivity, risk reduction, and user experience.Requirements
Education : Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of education.Certifications : ITIL, CompTIA A and Network , or Microsoft 365 certifications are preferred.Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT, including at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.Technical : Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 (preferably GCC-High), asset management, and network management.Strong leadership skills with experience managing a technical team.Proficiency in system integration, data management, and system architecture.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Experience with compliance standards such as CMMC is preferred.
