Work location is subject to change based on business needs. Job Description: The Pharmacy Manager is a licensed professional who is responsible for providing safe and appropriate pharmacy services to BioMatrix patients in accordance with the policies and procedures of BioMatrix, pharmacy practice professional standards, and applicable state and regulatory entities. This individual will also serve as the Pharmacist in Charge for the licensed location and will be registered with the Board of Pharmacy for applicable states where the pharmacy serves patients. The Pharmacy Manager performs specified distributive and clinical pharmacy activities and related services as they pertain to the quality care of the pharmacy patient. The Pharmacy Manager assists with the daily operations of pharmacy staff. Pharmacy staff in each location may vary; however, the Pharmacy Manager will primarily oversee those team members responsible for prescription processing, clinical assessment, drug utilization review, prescription verification, product labeling, and fulfillment. This individual will play a key role in supporting product procurement and inventory management in their respective pharmacy location. The Pharmacy Manager will perform additional pharmacy operation and patient-related service responsibilities as assigned by leadership. |

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS |
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctorate in pharmacy degree preferred or a BS pharmacy degree at a minimum.
- Minimum of three (3) years of home infusion therapy, specialty pharmacy experience required or Minimum of three (3) years of clinical hospital experience in compounding (non-hazardous, hazardous, sterile, non-sterile), transplant, Hepatitis C, hemophilia, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis/psoriasis, Crohn’s/ulcerative colitis, nutritional support, oncology, and infectious disease required
- A current, unrestricted, in good standing Pharmacist license as granted by the Board of Pharmacy required. License must minimally be in the state(s) where pharmacy is licensed
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (when necessary to attend meetings, conferences, seminars, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED |
- Minimum three (3) years of experience at manager or supervisory level overseeing pharmacy operations team members or equivalent clinical resources strongly preferred
- Experience and knowledge of accreditation requirements and process for specialty and/or infusion pharmacies
- General understanding of pharmacy and medical reimbursement concepts and applicability to prescription profitability
- General understanding of pharmacy inventory management and reconciliation processes
- General understanding of wholesaler, supplier, and distributor relationships, contractual agreements, and necessary processes to product access in a pharmacy environment
- Experience and knowledge of 340B program requirements, practices, and reporting needs for contracted healthcare institutions and participating entities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Assists Pharmacy leadership in maintaining company policies/procedures and other standards established by the pharmacy that relate to pharmacy services (accrediting bodies, State Boards of Pharmacy, etc.).
- Assists Pharmacy leadership in Performance Improvement/Quality Management Committee, Clinical Oversight committee related requirements i.e. data gathering, report generation, corrective actions, etc.
- Oversight and supervision for pharmacy personnel to ensure safe and effective pharmacy operations.
- Sets the tone for the pharmacy operations, develops and supports BioMatrix culture in the work environment, and ensures there is opportunity for team professional development.
- Maintains necessary and thoughtful communications to the pharmacy operations team delivering information supplied by leadership with impact to people, process, and technology updates within a given location.
- Directs, coordinates and evaluates pharmacy staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s polices and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; succession planning; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Has strong understanding of prescription volume, data, and ability to effectively navigate resources to meet volume expectations and needs. Supports effective communication of these needs to the team to achieve daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly goals.
- Maintains Out-of-State non-resident pharmacy licenses (non-resident, DEA, Controlled Substance, Sterile compounding, etc.) as required or specified for a certain BioMatrix pharmacy operation
- Performs initial patient evaluation and reassessments as it pertains to the following:
- Collects, analyzes, interprets and evaluates appropriate data necessary to identify the patient's drug therapy needs, drug interactions, unusual doses, allergies, adverse reactions/side effects, response to therapy, compliance to therapy, etc.
- Obtains patient clinical & prescription history and leverages clinical knowledge, systems and tools to optimize drug therapy management.
- Work collaboratively with patient’s prescriber and care team to develop and support patient’s therapeutic objectives and monitors patient for desired therapeutic response in order to design and utilize acceptable drug therapy management.
- Interprets data for objective assessment of physiological functions in order to monitor the effects of drug therapy, if applicable.
- Evaluates the significance of signs or symptoms related to certain disease progression to make recommendations for the modification of drug therapy to these problems and to contribute to their prevention while engaging the patient’s prescriber and care team as needed.
- Assists the referring physician and institution in planning and implementing patient care to ensure a smooth transition from the hospital to the home if applicable.
- Assists home patients in the self-management of home infusion/specialty pharmacy therapy if applicable.
- Conducts patient calls to perform any necessary or required patient assessments throughout their treatment plan in support of accreditation, insurance provider, and/or manufacturer contracted requirements.
- Provides counseling and answers questions from patients, family and health care professionals concerning the drug therapy.
- Assists in the evaluation and support for patient issues, which may arise due to the psychological, social and economic aspects of therapies.
- Maintains thorough and appropriate documentation in the patient's medical records of all communications and telephone contacts with the patient and their physician.
- Prepares progress reports for the referring physicians, insurance provider and others when needed.
- Supervises or directly compounds and dispenses pharmaceuticals and related ancillary supplies in accordance with federal, state and local laws and standards of practices within the profession.
- Processes and checks all medications, supplies, and equipment prior to dispensing from the pharmacy.
- Assists in purchasing, receiving, inventory and storing of pharmaceuticals.
- Assists in special projects and clinical research as directed.
- Maintains proficiency in the skills and theory of home infusion and specialty pharmacy therapies by reviewing the literature and attending in-services, seminars, and conferences.
- Participates in "on-call” rotation.
- Participates in quality assurance activities and audits as directed.
- Guarantees compliance with state and federal regulations, accrediting body standards, corporate policies and standards of performance.
- Works with staff to continually develop and implement ideas for delivering high quality, cost-effective services. This performance improvement role may take up to 10% of the job (URAC).
- Maintaining and supporting the following (as applicable) to the given pharmacy location where Pharmacy Manager oversight is provided:
- Daily Pharmacy Statistics
- Cleanroom maintenance & oversight
- Order delivery & shipment carrier/courier confirmations
- Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) Reporting (as applicable for licensure & product type)
- Month End Inventory process and staff activities
- Month End Reporting and coordination with finance team
- Mandatory In-Service tracking
- Manage employee evaluations and reviews

- Knowledge of the principles and practices involved in compounding and dispensing of prescriptions.
- Knowledge of pharmacy, drug, narcotic, and related laws and regulations of the state board of pharmacy and respective prescription monitoring programs, along with federal laws and accreditation standards
