General Summary/Objective:
The Sales Director reports to the EVP of Operations. The Sales Director will have a deep business contact network to leverage and must be accountable for tracking, managing, and achieving BRANY’s monthly/quarterly/ annual sales goals for BRANY’s central IRB service line. Success will be measured based on meeting the following criteria.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Developing and executing a sales strategy that enables central IRB sales targets to be achieved.
- Utilize sales experience to sell IRB services to pharma, device, and biotech companies as applicable.
- Contribute to creating compelling messaging for clients and prospects that drives new business.
- Develop account management strategies for existing clients.
- Face-to-face client engagement is expected with local clients, conference attendance, and some targeted travel throughout the year.
- Constantly monitor the competition, including strengths and weaknesses of competitors, and report competitive activity to Sr. leadership on a regular basis.
- Maintain a positive selling environment.
- Currently has a deep network of contacts and actively works to expand the network.
- Maintain skillful understanding of the central IRB market from the view of pharmaceutical, device, and biotech companies, and clinical research organizations (CROs).
- Communicate changes and challenges that may impact sales and company growth.
- Responsibilities of the Sales Director:
Identifies and closes sales opportunities through existing relationships, networking, and targeted market. - Establish annual and quarterly sales goals.
- Participates in designing programs to engage new clients, marketing incentives, and create strategic
- partnerships as well as other innovative revenue generating opportunities for the business.
- Takes the lead in gathering information by maintaining regular top-level sales calls to clients, partner
- organizations, and potential clients.
- Compiles, analyzes, and presents pipeline and lead data, deliver periodic reporting (utilizing Salesforce or other CRM tools) to leadership and other teams providing key business insights.
- Prepares reports for regularly scheduled business development meetings.
- Attends relevant industry conferences as needed. Coordinates conference logistics.
- Has a strong curiosity and passion for the activities and trends in the clinical research marketplace.
- Effectively utilizes sales and marketing automation platforms, including CRM (e.g. Sales Force).
- Submits sales expense reimbursement forms in a timely manner and monitor adherence to budgets and company policies regarding Travel and Entertainment.
- Assists with other activities as needed.

Qualifications
Education required:
Bachelor’s degree: advanced degree preferred
Experience Required:
A minimum of 5 years' experience executing sales strategies in the research market including pharmaceutical, biotech or life sciences industry
Qualifications:
Knowledge of regulations that govern institutional review board (IRB) activities preferred
Demonstrated ability to achieve sales goals. Describes oneself as having a “hunter” sales persona
Demonstrated strong leadership qualities
Deep network of business contacts in pharm, biotech, CRO, IRB, or other related industries
Superior oral and written communicator
Ability to spot and respond to problems and opportunities quickly
Creates effective sales strategies
Experienced at developing sales presentations, proposals, and responding to requests for proposal (RFPs)
Strong computer skills including MS office, CRM, and use of custom databases
Understands and supports/drives profit goals for the company
Working knowledge of clinical research, sales promotion, and all current digital advertising programs

Physical Demands and Environment:
This position operates in an office environment using standard office equipment. It is largely a deskbound role. The position requires the individual to see, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers, and reach with hands and arms.

Frequent travel is expected for this position
Salary/Exempt Status:
$85,000 – $95,000/Exempt/Eligible for commission
