What are the responsibilities and job description for the Co-Op Hardware Engineering position at bioMerieux?
The engineering co-op student will work alongside, and in support of, R&D hardware and systems engineering teams. The engineering teams are a diverse, collaborative group working on the support and / or development of medical devices; the devices are used to automate in vitro diagnostics typically found in a microbiology lab.
Job Responsibilities :
- The engineering co-op student will be supervised and mentored by the Director, Managers, and Sr. Engineer’s in the engineering team of Systems Development.
- Interaction with Project Leaders and other engineers will occur on a daily basis as needed in the co-op period.
- The co-op will obtain basic knowledge related to medical instrumentation research, development, design, and testing.
- Project Activities : This position will include creation and execution of verification tests, troubleshooting and evaluating instrument and system issues and design alternatives, and supporting engineering evaluations and feasibility efforts.
- Design and Development Process : The co-op will be given the opportunity to acquire knowledge and understanding of the bioMerieux Design Control Process that addresses US and international regulatory requirements, as well as internal Quality Assurance.
