What are the responsibilities and job description for the Applicant Fingerprint Technician position at Biometric Identification Services LLC?
This job involves traveling to the Fairfield County area ( primarily police departments) on various days and times through out the week. The job entails capturing electronic fingerprints as well as individuals information who are in need of background checks. These background checks are done for a variety of reasons that include jobs for teachers, doctors, nurses, lawyers, and day care workers. In addition, gun permits for both the state of Connecticut and other states are completed as well. Federal fingerprints for the Government, immigration and other federal reasons are also captured at these police departments during these times.
This job requires familiarity with computers and technology as all fingerprints are done electronically on computers. The technician must have excellent interpersonal skills and not be intimidated by groups of people waiting in line to be fingerprinted. This job is a part time position and the employee must be willing to work flexible hours and days of the week. The technician must have integrity, a good work ethic and be presentable at all times as he or she is representing BIS and the police departments.
The employee must have a minimum of a high school diploma but preferably a college degree or working towards one. Criminal justice majors, former law enforcement or veterans are a plus.
Technicians will be required to drive company vehicles periodically. A clean driving history and criminal history are required. Criminal and DMV checks will be performed prior to being hired.
