Job Summary and Purpose :
The Engineering Project Manager role requires an individual who is organized, thoughtful, energetic, and entrepreneurial. This position will be managing projects that include construction and renovation of facilities, design and installation of equipment, and optimization of manufacturing processes. This role will manage projects ranging from $20K to $5M and is accountable for ensuring projects stay within the original approved budget and delivery times.
This position reports directly to the Director of Engineering, Maintenance, and Utilities.
Responsibilities and Key Duties :
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Review project requests and collect additional information from requestor as needed.
- Perform design and development engineering to ensure validity of project need and executability.
- Develop URS documents for capital equipment as needed.
- Ensure projects are initiated and approved per engineering and procurement procedures.
- Develop and maintain project schedule to ensure time project execution.
- Work with Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and external contractors to manage schedule conflicts.
- Manage project team members and provide support where needed with project execution.
- Apply Lean Concepts to optimizing manufacturing processes.
- Participate in daily startup and status meetings during project execution.
- Ensure all projects are properly completed through to the financial closing process.
