We are seeking a motivatedAssociate Scientist to support the execution of cell culture processes and downstream purification activities. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, work hard, and contribute to a fast-paced lab environment. You will work with benchtop wave bioreactors, 200L & 500L bioreactors, chromatography systems, and other pilot-scale equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform aseptic vial thaw, cell culture passaging, and operation of bioreactors
- Support large-scale harvest operations through chromatography, filtration, and UF/DF
- Conduct in-process sampling, operate laboratory analyzers, and manage samples
- Maintain detailed documentation using electronic lab notebooks in accordance with good documentation practices (GDP)
- Compound media and buffer solutions, and assist with CIP/SIP operations
- Assemble, disassemble, and maintain lab equipment, ensuring safety and compliance
- Escort vendors and maintain lab organization and cleanliness
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science OR
- Associate's degree with 1 year of lab or manufacturing experience OR
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work weekends is required
- Hands-on experience in cell culture or downstream purification processes
- Experience with automated biopharmaceutical equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of data compilation, analysis, and scientific documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible, but frequent weekend work required
- 40 hours a week
