Comp: 130k - 150k base with commission

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to support our Sales team, reporting directly to the VP of Sales. This role is remote, with a preference for candidates based in the Boston area market.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Growth:
- Work closely with the VP of Sales and broader sales team to develop and execute strategic initiatives aligned with company goals.
- Identify, assess, and secure strategic alliances, partnerships, and collaborations to strengthen the company’s market presence.
- Lead negotiations, contract structuring, and deal execution.
- Partner with marketing and operations teams to ensure smooth implementation of business development strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, potential partners, and industry leaders.
- Represent the company at conferences and industry events.
Territory Oversight:
- Manage business development activities within an assigned territory.
- Develop and implement a territory sales strategy to achieve annual revenue goals.
- Drive growth by leveraging market analysis, effective sales tactics, and strong customer engagement.
- Maintain a structured and metric-driven process to expand the sales pipeline.
- Identify, cultivate, and close new business opportunities with both existing and prospective clients.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams to optimize territory coverage and address market challenges.
- Analyze sales data and industry trends to identify growth opportunities in fields such as cell therapy, gene therapy, vaccine production, and bioprocessing.
Sales Team Support & Leadership:
- Act as a mentor and collaborator within the commercial team, providing strategic guidance to drive success.
- Partner with sales operations and marketing to enhance performance and achieve revenue objectives.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required.
- Advanced education or certifications in Biology, Immunology, Biomedical Engineering, or related disciplines are a plus.
Experience & Expertise:
- Minimum of five years in business development, strategic partnerships, or a related role, preferably within biotechnology or life sciences.
- Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment preferred, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Established industry connections within the cell and gene therapy sector.
- Strong sales acumen with a "hunter" mentality, driving meaningful and frequent customer interactions.
- Proven success in negotiating and closing complex deals.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with ISO13485 or cGMP manufacturing environments is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to make independent, strategic decisions within company guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.

- Develops innovative solutions to complex challenges, ensuring alignment with business objectives and measurable outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to craft and implement effective sales strategies.
Physical & Travel Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
- Capability to read documents, reports, and computer screens.
- Willingness to travel up to 40-50% for business meetings, conferences, and client interactions.
Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
