In this role, they will work closely with warehouse team leads, the goods receipt team and department management to implement best practices related to inventory management.

Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Inventory Control Specialist is a professional responsible for implementing and maintaining quality process improvements to our daily inventory management work. In this role, they will work closely with warehouse team leads, the goods receipt team and department management to implement best practices related to inventory management.
Duties/Responsibilities
Duties may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
- Evaluates and manages stock rotation procedures.
- Maintains inventory storage space/location assignment in the warehouse.
- Trains Warehouse Associates in stocking procedures and product dating methods.
- Plans store warehouse space usage.
- Communicates with management about any inventory issues.
- Works with management if products are missing or damaged within a shipment.
- Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, reoccurring delivery.
- Provides inventory reports to purchasing and warehouse control manager.
- Audits daily records of goods received and shipments made.
- Conducts daily cycle counts of physical inventory.
- Assists with periodic physical inventory audits.
- Operates forklift truck when necessary.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
- Strong customer orientation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with computerized inventory control systems required.
- Minimum of 3 years' related work experience.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
- Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.
