Job Description
The Pipeline Commercialization Deliverable Team program managers partner with Development, Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and related functions across the Team Model, in a unified vision to Maximize the value of our assets and portfolio for patients and Abbvie by completing our mission to Collaborate, innovate and deliver differentiated solutions to patients and health care providers. They are united in the mission to: Maximize the pipeline, Lead with a Team First mindset, enable a scalable model, and Develop an Integrated Asset and Brand Strategy.
The Associate Director will be the accountable program manager for one or more of the following Pipeline Commercialization Deliverable Teams for a single or multiple assets and/or indications: Integrated Evidence Strategy Team (IEST), Brand Strategy Team (BST), Value and Access Team (VAT).

Key Responsibility Areas
- Program Management for assigned Pipeline Commercialization Deliverable Teams
- Drives development of deliverable team plans and aligns execution for functional components
- Ensures accurate and timely tracking and reporting of team deliverables and identification, communication and management of asset risks
- Actively participates in the advancement of Portfolio and Program Management and drug development at AbbVie
Provides Program Management for assigned deliverable team(s)
- Partners with key business stakeholders to develop core strategies and meet the teams goals
- Operates with a strategic, cross-functional mindset
- Coordinates team activities and deliverables and supports the deliverable team chairs in driving cross-functional alignment within the team and structures meetings and discussions to drive good decision-making practices
- Ensures effective management of meetings including scheduling, agendas, minutes, action item follow-up
- Collaborates with the Asset Team PM to help prepare key messages and deliverables for, and navigate the governance process effectively and efficiently and appropriate use of each forum
- Contributes to team discussions both from a PM functional perspective and a cross-functional strategic perspective
- Leads high performing deliverable teams through monitoring and performance assessment in partnership with the deliverable team Chairs and Asset Team PM
- In partnership with the deliverable team chair, drives development of (and participates in) creation of team plans and deliverables to inform asset strategy, and to translate asset strategy into execution by the deliverable team and associated functions
- Maintains awareness of upcoming deliverables as a part of the asset development lifecycle to ensure team preparedness
- Proactively identifies challenges or potential issues for execution, both within the deliverable team and partnering with asset PM cross-functionally, managing or escalating as appropriate
- Collaborates with project planners to ensure appropriate and accurate tracking and reporting of deliverable team timelines
- Maintains operational awareness of team deliverables and upcoming needs by the asset team
- Ensures appropriate team document management practices and repository of key program information for the deliverable team
- Partners with team members to proactively identify, communicate and manage asset risks, including escalation as appropriate
- Proactively seek learnings from other teams and share best practices
- Collaborates with colleagues in the Portfolio and Program Management organization and other deliverable teams to seek process improvement opportunities and participate as needed in developing and implementing change
- Champions the AbbVie drug development process for assigned deliverable teams and seek opportunities to increase team effectiveness within the AbbVie model
- 3-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a variety of roles in at least one role/functional area associated with drug development (research and development, commercial, project management, operations)
- 2 years in a cross-functional project / program management role
- Strong program management skills and knowledge of program management practices in the pharmaceutical industry and common tools utilized
- Well-developed communication skills both written and oral
- Well-developed strategic thinking and leadership skills
- Experience in late-stage drug development, including being a part of a launch team
- Experience with both global and regional teams in the pharmaceutical industry
