Organization Overview
The Instrument Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise for instrumentation and process measurement. The instrument engineer role will report to the Facilities Engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe working environment by following safety rules and helping improve the safety culture
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for sitewide process and utility instrumentation
- Create and revise preventative maintenance procedures for sitewide instrumentation
- Work cross functionally with maintenance and process engineering departments
- Responsible for CAPA and deviation investigations and originations
- Change Control owner for applicable equipment and Preventative Maintenance job plans
- Participate in scheduled maintenance shutdowns
- Interface with external contractors for calibration service providers as needed
- At least 5 years in Engineering and calibrations/maintenance experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience in an engineer role
- Solid understanding of basic requirements of regulatory agencies such as the FDA, EMEA, DEKRA, and OSHA.
- Experience with deviation and change management systems including TrackWise.
- Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) exposure/knowledge/experience
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Good interpersonal and communications skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong computer skills in a variety of software packages (SAP, Excel, etc.), previous experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (i.e. MAXIMO).
- Ability to work 8 hour days – Monday through Friday
- Ability to work overtime and during holiday shutdowns as required
