Role Summary
Dyne is seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Research Associate with a background in biology, chemistry, or biochemistry to help our Bioconjugation team advance therapeutics research and support drug discovery programs. This team member will collaborate closely with in vitro/in vivo biology colleagues to generate and characterize research materials and will also help establish and contribute to the operations of our laboratories.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with exceptional communication and collaboration skills. This role is based in Waltham, MA without the possibility of being fully remote.

Primary Responsibilities Include
- Generate research therapeutic candidates for in vitro and in vivo studies
- Design, optimize and execute protein bioconjugation reactionswith multiple proteins and payloads ranging from milligram to gram scale
- Utilize AKTA systems to perform purifications on raw materials and conjugates using a variety of chromatography techniques (IEX, HIC, CHT, etc.)
- Perform Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF; UF/DF) from milliliter to multi-Liter scale
- Write technical reports to support technical transfers
- Analyze the stability of therapeutic materials
- Perform biochemical analysis on in-process and final purified conjugates- including, but not limited to, the following techniques: Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS), SDS-PAGE, BCA, HPLC/UPLC, and UV-vis.
- Identify and validate novel therapeutic targets to expand our FORCE platform
- Communicate experimental results to a diverse audience of scientific collaborators
- Help maintain a high-functioning laboratory environment
- Contribute to critical discussions of therapeutic structure, activity, and function
- Contribute to building a positive, team-oriented culture
- A master’s degree in biology, chemistry, or biochemistry with 3 years of hands-on industry experience, or a BS with 5 years of experience in early drug discovery and development, is required
- Skills with chromatographic separation are essential (e.g. SEC, HIC, IEX)
- Skills with protein assays are also essential (e.g. ELISA, BCA, SDS-PAGE)
- Skills with analytical methods are a plus (e.g. HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS)
- Experience with protein bioconjugation, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) or antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas and document research
- Experienced in software applications (Prism, Excel, PowerPoint)
