The VP, US Head of Sales is a pivotal leadership role essential to driving Intellia’s success in the U.S. This high-visibility position involves a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including designing, building, and leading Intellia’s first customer-facing team in preparation for the launch of NTLA-2002, in phase 3 of development for the treatment of hereditary angioedema (HAE) with launch expected in 2027. The role reports to the SVP, Commercial.
The role requires a self-starter who is highly driven, collaborative, and can inspire the organization to exceed revenue expectations. Expertise in go-to-market models, sales incentive compensation development, and leadership coaching and development is essential.

Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the broader leadership team, design and implement a fit for purpose go-to-market strategy to commercialize our future pipeline products in the U.S.
- Lead the development and implementation of effective national commercial sales and account management strategies to establish Intellia’s leadership across therapeutic areas.
- Lead efforts to achieve revenue targets aligned with company strategy.
- Analyze business trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
- Partner with cross functional teams to establish effective annual sales incentive compensation plans designed to drive brand strategy.
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to shape and deliver objectives, unite around a shared purpose, and navigate complex stakeholder ecosystems.
- Work closely with cross-functional field partners (Medical Affairs, Market Access, Field Reimbursement, National Payer Account Team, etc.) to ensure strategic direction, anticipate barriers for adoption and ensure implementation pull through.
- Collaborate with marketing in the development of effective field resources.
- Build strong relationships with key national, regional and local decision makers, including external experts, healthcare providers, patient organizations, key accounts and members of the overall healthcare system.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable SOPs, US laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with human resources to attract, hire, and develop top industry talent to ensure the highest performance standards.
- Foster a culture of accountability and ownership at a local level. Set a fast pace and reinforce the team's understanding of their role in driving and exceeding business performance.
- In collaboration with learning and development, and commercial operations develop effective product training and leadership training programs.
- Motivate teams and provide continuous training and coaching to improve clinical and business acumen.
- Oversee the development of regional plans to exceed sales targets and timely execution of planned sales activities.
- Execute regular business reviews with first line leaders to effectively monitor performance and ensure targets are exceeded.
- Strong strategic agility with the ability to analyze complex business issues, adapt to evolving market and competitive dynamics, and establish appropriate objectives.
- Excellent leadership skills to help prioritize key areas of focus and drive sales performance in a highly competitive space.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative environment; strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others.
- Solid understanding of the industry’s complex regulatory, market access, and commercial requirements.
- Ability to understand and simplify complex science.
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA desired.
- 20 years in progressive sales and sales leadership roles with a record of accomplishment in launching competitive rare disease therapies.
- Proven track record of driving rapid uptake of brands in recent rare disease launches (within the past 5 years) required.
- Deep knowledge of the changing market access landscape and payer environment (particularly Commercial, Part D, and FFS and Managed Medicaid), as well as patient support programs required.
- Prior experience in Immunology, HAE, ATTR or gene/cell therapies is desired.
- Prior experience building high performing small sales teams desired.
- Passion for and prior experience in startup/ TA build/Company build environment desired.
- Ability to travel domestically (50% of the time)
