SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
A nonexempt position responsible for transcribing the doctor/patient visit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. While this is intended to be an accurate reflection of the current job, management reserves the right to revise the job or to require that other or different functions be performed when circumstances change or exigencies require (this includes but is not limited to emergencies, changes in personnel, workload, rush jobs, or technological developments).

Transcribing doctor/patient visits to include.
- Physical examination findings
- Diagnostic imaging findings
- Summary of why patient is being seen.
- Treatment plan for the patient
- Ordering appropriate diagnostic imaging
- Creating appropriate referrals
- Creating appropriate booking forms
- Creating appropriate work notes for patients
- Creating and keeping communication in group chat daily to include every patient seen by provider and what their plan of care is, as well as answering questions medical assistants may have in the chat for you to ask the provider i.e. can patient in room 5 get xyz medication.
- Creating a narrative at attorney’s request and getting with provider on how to answer questions involved in this.
- Adding addendums on patients chart as needed/directed by provider.
- Being available to provider while they complete their paperwork to assist them in answering any questions, they may have on how to complete aforementioned paperwork and any information they need regarding patient in question.
- Communicates with other team members in clinical and clerical areas to provide a successful patient centered practice.
- Other duties as assigned.
NTIAs may be assigned.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma.
EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Clinic experience is preferrable.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology.
- Familiarity with health care system~, regulations, policies, and functions.
- Understanding of documentation standards.
- Knowledge of equipment. supplies, and material needed for medical treatment.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Skill in reading and following written and oral medical order.
- Skill in initiating appropriate emergency procedures.
- Skill in handling several tasks simultaneously.
- Skill intact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
Abilities:
- Ability to communicate calmly and clearly with providers and employees.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and diverse patient populations.
- Ability to work with computer and effectively use electronic medical records (EMR).
- Ability to work under pressure.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Standing six to eight hours per day walking, stooping, bending, and maneuvering. Occasional stress from dealing with many staff and patients. May require lifting to 50 pounds to transfer and or assist a patient in standing on the scale or sitting on the exam table.
