What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/LPN-Urology position at BioTek?
Urodynamics is looking for a Medical Assistant or LPN to join our team. Urodynamic and Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation includes testing and treatment for men and women with incontinence and/or pain in the pelvic region. As a Urodynamics Pelvic Floor Technicians, we are specially trained to rehabilitate the pelvic floor muscles and work with patients to implement an individualized plan of care ordered by a provider.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring patients understand the purpose of Urodynamics and Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation and management according to written guidelines
- Responsible for the functional knowledge, use of equipment, forms, treatment plans and computer programs
- Responsible for quality of service delivered including but not limited to clinical care and documentation
- Responsible for adhering to the Company’s code of ethics and compiling with applicable Federal, State and local Codes
- Maintain appropriate professional manner, conduct, dress and grooming
- Maintain consistent attendance and consistently meet all schedules
- Maintain required patient records and comply with HIPAA
- Schedule appointments and call the patients to verify appointments
- Sterilize equipment as required
- Assist/lifts patients as needed through the Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation process
- Observe condition of the patient and report unusual conditions to the physicians and/or clinical staff
- Document patients’ intervention in medical records
- Perform Urodynamics and anal Manometry and electromyography studies
- Gather, interpret and record test data accurately
Skills
- A combination of training and experience equivalent to a college training program as an MA or LPN. The training should include courses in human anatomy and the physiology of the nervous system
- Previous experience in Urology and/or OB GYN is required
- The majority of the time will be spent inside the environment typically associated with a physicians’ office or clinic. A significant amount of routine travel by automobile will be required
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required
- Salary of $1,000 a week
- 16-24 Hours per week
