Job Description:
BioUrja Group is looking for a talented and motivated college student to join us onsite for 10-12 weeks in Summer 2025 at BioUrja’s global headquarters location in Houston, TX. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of exports and logistics. You will work closely with our experienced corporate development professionals, contributing to real projects and initiatives that drive the company's growth and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Mobile App Development:
- Collaborate with the team to design and develop an app aimed at expanding sales to end users.
- Focus on creating a user-friendly, feature-rich mobile experience for customers.
- Implement features that facilitate product purchases, customer engagement, and data collection for continuous improvement.
- Ensure the app integrates seamlessly with existing sales platforms and back-end systems.
Product Mix Optimization Algorithm:
- Assist in developing a machine learning algorithm to project and continuously optimize the plant's product mix.
- Analyze production data across five different grades of products and develop a forecasting model to predict the optimal mix based on market demand and profitability.
- Work with the operations team to ensure the algorithm can adjust the product mix for maximum profitability.
Railcar Lease Optimization Algorithm:
- Help design an algorithm to continuously assess and establish the optimal number of railcars to lease.
- Analyze logistics data to determine the most cost-effective and efficient railcar lease strategy.
- Develop models that balance railcar availability with shipping demand to optimize transportation costs.
Qualifications:
- Entering Junior or Senior in a bachelor's or master's degree program.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and findings clearly and succinctly.
- Understanding data modeling, forecasting algorithms, and optimization techniques.
- Detail-oriented approach with a high level of accuracy and thoroughness in work.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently, with a proactive and self-motivated attitude.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
- Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, SharePoint and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to work in-person at Houston, TX 77042 headquarters
Duration and Compensation:
- 8–12-week commitment, 40 hours per week full time
- Compensation package will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
