POSITION OVERVIEW
Bioworld is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to assist with financial and other reporting, inventory and taxes. This position reports to the Controller and is a senior member of the Accounting team.
JOB DUTIES
- Perform month-end close and financial statement preparation/analysis.
- Prepare budget and other ad hoc reports including budget to actual analysis.
- Maintain various balance sheet accounts and assists with the preparation of management estimates.
- Partner with Inventory Control and Operations to accurately account for inventory transactions, strengthen controls and provide required management reporting.
- Prepare royalty, inventory and departmental forecast reports.
- Work with cross-functional teams to examine existing procedures and help improve processes.
- Partner with IT as part of team responsible for all software implementation and enhancements.
- Support external audits from licensors, bank and external accounting firm.
- Prepare and help track sales tax and other returns, as needed.
- Processing payroll on bi-monthly basis including out of cycle payments.
- Participating in quarterly town halls and team meetings presenting or facilitating short topics.
- Leading accounting initiatives.
- Mentoring team members.
- Responsible for the complete oversight and execution of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of all payroll functions including taxes for State and Federal Withholdings.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidate profile:
- 7-10 years’ work experience in progressive accounting roles in a similar industry (wholesale/distribution/retail or other inventory-based operations).
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and implement process improvements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Performs work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, Power BI, Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook) and ongoing system enhancements.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
- BS/BA with Accounting Major required, CPA or CMA certifications are required.
BUSINESS HOURS
- Occasional extended work hours depending on volume and collaboration with India office.
