POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Network Services is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of Bioworld's network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability. This role plays a vital part in supporting Bioworld’s merchandising operations by maintaining robust connectivity across global offices, distribution centers, and retail systems. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, extensive technical expertise, and a proven track record in managing complex IT networks within dynamic environments.
JOB DUTIES
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the organization's LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
- Ensure the network supports high availability and optimal performance for business-critical applications and systems.
- Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions to meet future business needs.
- Implement and enforce network security protocols to protect company data from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations, including PCI DSS and GDPR where applicable.
- Conduct regular network risk assessments and audits.
- Lead and mentor the Network Services team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Define team goals, evaluate performance, and provide training and development opportunities.
- Work closely with IT leadership and business stakeholders to align network strategies with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with merchandising, supply chain, and retail operations teams to ensure seamless connectivity across all systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidate profile:
- 10 years of experience in network infrastructure management, with at least 6 years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in managing enterprise-level networks in retail, merchandising, or similar industries.
- Proven track record of leading network transformations and upgrades.
- Advanced knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper).
- Strong understanding of cloud networking solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
BUSINESS HOURS
- Hours of operation: Monday-Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
- Occasional extended work hours depending on volume and collaboration with India office.
