What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Movement Specialist position at BioZyme Inc?
PURPOSE:
The Inventory Movement Specialist loads and unloads trucks going to and from Stockyards and Easton, keeping records of all items loaded and unloaded in and out of the warehouse based on the related SOP and putting the inventory trucked or that which has been delivered on the dock, by other vendors, in its proper spot. They also assist with the order picking process when required.
ACCOUNTABILITES:
- Inspects trailers before loading and unloading for cleanliness, insuring what was hauled prior was safe based on our feed safety plan and that there is no risk of contaminates.
- Safely operates a forklift.
- Keeps the warehouse and receiving dock areas clean and organized.
- Serves the plant as efficiently as possible considering the immediate circumstances and conditions (i.e., weather, equipment, etc.).
- Makes sure that all trailers dropped off are safe and clean.
- Ensures that all delivery rounds are completed in a timely manner and report any abnormalities immediately to your supervisor.
- Ensures outside dock lights are green before pulling trailer away.
- Receives, samples, and scans wheat bran and other inbound ingredients and then move into their proper storage and use location.
- Follows all trucking regulations including maintaining logbooks and ensuring they get to the Facilities Manager.
- Manages in-house inventory transfers between Easton and Stockyards.
- Pulls inventory from the warehouse using FIFO to pack orders in receipt order.
- Stages items correctly for delivery.
- Ensures assigned checklists are completed daily and warehouse cleaning goals are met.
- Maintains a high level of safety standards.
- Shrinks wrap products to pallets when necessary.
- Operates scanners accurately so that the proper order is picked and inventory is managed accurately.
- Gathers and stacks bags in proper patterns for shipments; inspects each bag or pallet (if a full pallet order) to ensure it meets meet company’s strict quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required Education - High school diploma or GED

Required Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in the manufacturing environment
- Class A CDL and a minimum of one-year tractor trailer experience
- Willing and able to work off hours, overtime, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Willing and able to wear the necessary Personal Protection equipment (PPE) (i.e. hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes and other PPE required by specific jobs).
- Ability to pass a written and driving exam to prove capability of safely operating a forklift.
- Physically able to lift and move 50lb. on a regular reoccurring basis.
