Foundation 10 is a collection of great food and great people in Palm Springs, California. Cheeky’s, Birba and Alcazar are based in the north end of Palm Springs while Mr. Lyons is the newest addition to the south end. We’re three restaurants and a hotel— and an incomparable experience. Owned by local chef, restaurateur and hotelier Tara Lazar, Foundation 10 is an adventurous group. We are inspired by people, food, drink, art, music, design and travel. With Cheeky’s, Birba, Mr. Lyons and Alcazar, we like to think we’ve struck the perfect balance: foodies and non-foodies, young creatives and old school traditionalists, jet setters and homebodies, Palm Springs natives and urban dwellers just dipping in for a weekend escape. F10 Creative is dedicated to Small Farm Food. We use responsibly sourced meats and local produce whenever possible. You can feel the freshness of our dishes, and you’ll come back with a craving for it.

F10 started with Cheeky’s restaurant in 2008. Our goal was to make homemade breakfast just the way we like it: no fuss, bought local, made from scratch. Turns out you like it too, because Cheeky’s now boasts a cult following among locals and visitors alike.

We got the name F10 from adding the 6 2 2 of our address at 622 north Palm Canyon Drive. 10 is our lucky number and we hope you’ll think we’re a perfect 10. Cheeky’s and Birba share the same property as our hotel Alcazar, so you don’t need to go anywhere else! (Unless of course you crave classic steak done right-- Mr. Lyons is a short jaunt to the south end of town.)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a professional, high-energy Bartender with excellent communication skills serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers. The Bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties.

To succeed as a Bartender, you should have a neat appearance and engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities may include:

· Greets and serves customers in a professional and timely manner.

· Prepares alcoholic, non-alcoholic and other beverages for customers and servers in accordance with standard recipes.

· Prepares all condiments to garnish drink orders.

· Takes food orders and enters them into computer.

· Applies knowledge of the full menu, beverages and other restaurant information such as restaurant hours and types of payment.

· Maintains a clean bar at all times wiping bar regularly, disposing of debris and bottles and washing glasses behind the bar as needed.

· Checks and maintains stock of glassware, beverages and bar supplies and communicates shortages to appropriate person.

· Records currency transactions accurately on computer and tenders proper change.

· Processes charge transaction through charge transmittal machine and prints, reviews and submits a daily charge report to the Manager.

· Completes all assigned opening and closing duties to prepare bar for efficient operation.

· Communicates health and/or safety concerns/violations immediately to management.

· Developes new cocktail recipes

Additonal Requirments:

• Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required.
• Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong task and time management abilities.
• Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Pay: $16.50 per hour
