Qualifications
Master's degree in from an accredited institution
Valid state license or certification Education Specialist Instruction Credential: Visual Impairments
Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting, with a strong emphasis on supporting those with special needs
Responsibilities
As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired with Birch Agency, you will:
Perform functional vision and learning media assessments
Interpret eye medical reports as they relate to educational environments
Contribute to the development of the IEP
Recommend appropriate specialized evaluations as needed, such as low vision, orientation and mobility, psycho-social, and adaptive physical education
Consult with diagnosticians, classroom teachers, students, and parents concerning appropriate evaluations, modification, and test administration
Provide Braille Instruction
