Birch Creek Assisted Living is a warm, cheerful, and welcoming senior living community with 47 apartments, including 36 in assisted living and 11 in memory care, typically home to around 50 residents. Our residents enjoy fantastic food, a beautiful building, and an incredible care team dedicated to their well-being. We seek a dynamic and creative Life Enrichment/Activity Director to lead our vibrant activity program. Ideally, we are looking for a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or an experienced professional with a background in recreation therapy, senior engagement, or activity coordination.
The Life Enrichment/Activity Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a varied and engaging program of activities catering to assisted living and memory care residents. This role involves planning and leading social, recreational, educational, cultural, and fitness-based activities tailored to residents' needs while organizing off-site outings that keep residents connected to the larger community. The director will work closely with and provide leadership to a dedicated team, which includes a full-time (30 hours per week) activity assistant and a full-time (30 hours per week) board-certified music therapist. This team creates a well-rounded, diverse calendar of experiences supporting residents' physical, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being. The director will collaborate with staff, families, and residents to ensure programs align with individual interests and abilities while maintaining documentation and ensuring compliance with state regulations for activity programming.
We are looking for someone with a degree or certification in recreation therapy, gerontology, or a related field, though it is not required. Experience planning and leading activities in an assisted living, memory care, or senior living environment is highly valued. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and leadership skills, a passion for enhancing seniors' quality of life, and the ability to engage with residents, families, and staff enthusiastically. Creativity, flexibility, and a willingness to bring fresh ideas and adventures into our community are a must.
