Description
In collaboration with the Principal, s/he is responsible for the health and safety of the children, families and staff who work at the site, ensuring that the learning environment meets and exceeds the standards established by Birch Family Services. As directed by the Principal, s/he will communicate with students, staff, families, Birch Administrative Office staff, the New York State Education Department and the New York City Department of Education, as well as a myriad of other agencies. S/he assumes responsibility as determined by the Principal for facilities management, curriculum development, program evaluation and design, site financial and personnel management and emergency procedures.

MA & NYS certification in Special Ed, prior school-age and teaching experience, SAS/SBL required
Experience
3-5 years of Administrator experience.
Certificates & Licenses
Must have a Masters degree and be a certified professional in Special Education or one of the related services (e. Social Work; Psychology; Speech, Occupational or Physical Therapy).

Essential Functions
- Establish and promote high standards and expectations for students and staff for academic and
- Under the direction of the Principal, facilitate, evaluate and supervise effective and clear procedures for the operation and functioning of the school consistent with the philosophy, values and goals
- Assist the Principal in school level planning processes to ensure the development, implementation
- Assist the Principal to ensure that curriculum and instructional approaches in line with NYSED and
- Work with the Principal to develop and implement effective and efficient administrative tools including
- As directed by the Principal, work with staff to ensure that instructional programs address students' needs, interests, developmental levels, while encouraging critical thinking, problem analyses and
- Ensure staff compliance with federal, NYSED and NYC DOE regulations and contractual obligations.
- Implement the policies and procedures that are in place to meet student needs and all IEP
- Maintain working relationships and open communication with family members, and assist other staff
- Implement procedures to address substance abuse, child abuse or neglect, medical conditions and
- Implement procedures that create an attractive, organized, healthy, clean and safe facility that
- Ensure student supervision schedules and procedures are followed throughout the school day,
- Ensure that families and community members are aware of school activities, and student and staff
