What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Sales Manager position at Birch Lake Hospitality?
The primary responsibilities of the Hotel Sales Manager may be seen in three different dimensions, Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management.
Within the scope of sales, the Hotel Sales Manager is expected to drive sales by partnering with local businesses, negotiating corporate rates as well as group rates and establishing yourself in the community. The Hotel Sales Manager will serve as a coach for Guest Service Agents, identifying areas of opportunity and improving performance and recommending tools and sales training to optimize the performance of the team.
Within the scope of Marketing, the Hotel Sales Manager will guide the markets perception of the hotel by appropriately positioning itself on different online platforms to the specifications agreed upon by the General Manager & Birch Lake Hospitality. The Hotel Sales Manager will achieve the desired position through effective use of social media, constant maintenance of the website, and utilization of email blast programs to communicate promotions.
The third scope of which The Hotel Sales Manager will operate is under Revenue Management. The Hotel Sales Manager will work closely with the General Manager and Birch Lake Hospitality in developing strategies to optimize RevPAR, grow market share, and ultimately ensure that maximum revenue is achieved. The Hotel Sales Manager will develop and implement forecasting systems based on empirical data, the STR report, local event schedule and other macros forces to give as much insight as possible into aligning rates to market demand.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Utilize sales program to achieve Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Goals set forth by the General Manager & Birch Lake Hospitality.
- Prospect & develop new Corporate LNR Agreements
- Prospect& develop new Group Agreements
- Maintain strong relationships with current Corporate LNR Accounts
- Maintain strong relationships with current Group Accounts
- Ensure all Corporate & Group stays are successful
- Develop relationships with local Chamber, DMO, & Economic Development organizations.
- Attend all Chamber, DMO, & Economic Development events.
- Review and manage RFP sites
- Maintain a professional social media presence within the market
- Update and maintain the confirmation and post departure email templates database to be utilized for future promotions.
- Other duties as assigned
